Abstract
The current status of microwave applications in Japan and Asia is presented. In Japan, research on HTS filters and HTS filter subsystems is being carried out in only a few companies and universities. Compact lumped-element filters, small and light HTS filter subsystems for the IMT-2000 system and new applications using HTS bandpass filters are being proposed. In China and Korea, HTS filter subsystems have recently been developed for mobile telecommunications base stations. Field trials of these HTS filter subsystems were carried out and their effectiveness was verified.
