Abstract
The paper is a brief review of some recent theoretical and experimental work done at the Institute of Physical Chemistry in Sofia, Bulgaria. It comprises investigations on the transition between three- and two-dimensional nucleation, on the atomistic theory of electrolytic nucleation, on the rupture of Newton black films by hole nucleation, on the growth modes of thin solid films and the transition between them, on the condensation coefficient in vapour deposition of silver on glass, and on the propagation velocity of monatomic steps in electrolytic growth of silver.
