Abstract

We discuss aspects of the physics programme with polarized electrons and polarized ‘effective’ neutron targets (deuterium and helium-3) carried out at the AmPS electron storage ring, in Amsterdam. Specifically, we report on the measurement of the side-ways spin correlation parameter for the reaction 2 H ( e, e′n)p at a four-momentum transfer squared of 0.21 (GeV/ c) 2, from which a value for the charge form factor of the neutron G n E can be extracted.
