Abstract

Powder metallurgy has taken two different directions in its development. One can classify them according to achievable density. There is, on the one hand, diffusion-controlled sintering as the consolidation step in conventional powder metallurgy, and there is the old and rejuvenated method of powder processing by deformation processing. Both types of development have progressed far enough to justify speaking of two different technologies.
