Abstract
The ability to measure plasma insulin concentration by radioimmunoassay has greatly aided in the diagnosis of insulin-secreting tumors of the pancreas, but differentiation of these from other hypoglycemic states may still be difficult. The authors review the state of the art of diagnosis, localization, and treatment of insulinomas.
