Abstract

Single particle analysis (SPA) is a popular technique used to gain a detailed understanding of the atomic structure and interaction of particles. To improve SPA capabilities, researchers have developed various methods. Microfluidics has been widely used for SPA due to its ability to offer a microenvironment for sample preparation and high-throughput particle analysis. This review offers an overview of four different microfluidic analysis platforms used for particle separation or signal detection. The played roles and benefits of these techniques in SPA are highlighted, along with the remaining technical issues and scientific challenges that require further attention. SPA using microfluidics is an important area of scientific research and offers significant potential for improving our understanding of particle behavior.
