Abstract
The state-of-the-art of steroid hormone immunoassays is reviewed briefly. The analytical criteria of recent steroid immunoassays are compared with those of other methods for steroid determination that are used in biomedical fields. The main ways for improving antibody specificity, the techniques of ligand labelling and recent trends in the optimalization of assay designs are evaluated.
