Abstract

AbstractThe Henry reaction is a powerful method that is used for C−C bond formation. It is a useful technique in organic chemistry because of the synthetic utility of the corresponding products, which can be easily converted into other valuable synthetic intermediates and products. Several procedures have been employed for the Henry reaction. Among these, a zinc‐catalyzed protocol is the most notable because of the nontoxic and environmentally benign nature of zinc. This review mainly focuses on the zinc‐catalyzed Henry reaction and describes literature that was published up to 2016.
