Abstract

Nanotechnology has a tremendous potential to improve the existing drug delivery system. Electrospin nanofiber being recognized as a flexible and promising biomedical technology, providing unprecedented prospects for the creation of improved therapies. This review article covers the recent advances in electrospun nanofiber as well as unique electrospinning technique that have emerged in past few years for various medical applications. The utilization of electrospun nanofibers in the past few decades for tissue engineering, wound dressing, cancer diagnostics and therapy, medical protective equipment, and other applications is the primary focus of this review. Finally, a comprehensive summary of electrospun nanofiber advancement in the biomedical field is provided along with potential future developments. Electrospinning is a versatile and efficient technique utilized for producing nanofibers, making it highly promising for several biomedical uses.
