Abstract
There are many kinds of surgical treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). With the development of new methods and technologies, various surgical procedures have been developed for BPH. Such as transurethral laser prostatectomy (TULP) and bipolar plasma kinetic vaporization of prostate (BPKVP). However, all of the surgical procedures at present are by removing of hyperplastic glandular tissue. There are still no effective surgical treatment for patients who want to preserve the prostate organ or those who have poor tolerance to conventional surgery and anesthesia. Transurethral columnar balloon dilation of the prostate (TUCBDP)is a new technology for the treatment of BPH in recent years. This article reviews the research progress and clinical application of TUCBDP.
