Abstract

Abstract Religious text can be abused for ideological ends or used for positive political gains in international affairs. Religious scriptures can be read alongside secular texts as sources for moral authority. We must keep in mind that religious traditions are internally diverse. They negotiate scriptural interpretations about politics among their membership. When open political discussion is encouraged among religious adherents, scripture can contribute positively to international affairs.
