Abstract

The cardiac flow volumes through the mitral valve orifice were measured using a Gaussian control surface-based, Doppler angle-independent method on real-time three-dimensional digital Doppler (3DDD) data from 13 children. Our flow volume measurements correlated and agreed well with the ascending aorta flow volumes measured by PVC MRI and stroke volumes obtained from MRI left ventrical volumetric measurements.
