Abstract

KY Boost converter is a negative output voltage DC-DC converter, that is polarity of output voltage is the reverse of input voltage. KY Boost converter operates in continuous conduction mode and it has non-pulsating output current, which decreases the current stress on the output capacitor as well as reduces the output ripples. Real time simulation of KY Boost converter is useful in testing the converter performance in variety of applications. Here real-time simulation of KY converter is done using miniature Full Spectrum Simulator, a simulation system to address the entire spectrum of simulation namely, offline simulation, real time simulation and hardware in loop(HiL) simulation. Average modelling of the converter is done and KY converter library is created in FSS-Mini. FSS is in its beginning stage and it supports assembly level solver options. The simulation results will be available in real-time and can be interfaced with a controller in the HiL simulation. The KY converter library can be therefore, effectively used in controller development and testing purposes.
