Abstract

This article is an overview of new trends in oil condition monitoring and the impact of Industry 4.0 on the monitoring of lubricants in real time. New solutions are being introduced into this industry with new advantages in the development of artificial intelligence, as well as machine learning and sensor technologies that are applicable for data-based services. This is called predictive maintenance, which changes the traditional routine maintenance and provides a deep understanding of the operation of equipment. Constant monitoring of the condition of lubricants during operation is necessary to maintain the quality of the equipment in real time since non-operational monitoring can reduce operating costs by eliminating equipment downtime during daily diagnostics. Keywords: lubricating oils, hydraulic fluids, maintenance, operating conditions, sensors
