Abstract

This collection of 44 articles is intended for professional clinical psychologists. The book is divided into four main sections: one on individual differences; one on therapeutic techniques; a third on psychometrics and statistics; and another on diagnostic and research problems. The selections are predominantly review articles, almost a third of which were first published in Psychological Bulletin . They are, in the main, well written and examine in depth specific research areas. The number of selections devoted to the work of Eysenck and his collaborators (including the editor) is proportionately greater than this work receives on this side of the Atlantic. Except for a brief historical sketch, the editor has not provided introductory material or continuity, giving the collection a mosaic quality.
