Abstract

Levels of acute-phase reactive proteins and immunoglobulins were estimated in 80 women using the Copper-7 or Lippes Loop intrauterine device for less than 1 year and for more than 1 year. The changes that occurred were mainly attributed to the chemotactic foreign body endometrial response in addition to the different types of endometrial trauma. The clinical significance and methodologic evaluations are discussed.
