Abstract

The reactions (p, pn), (p, 2n) and (p, n) on 89Y have been studied in the proton energy range from 120 to 670 MeV. The cross sections of these reactions decrease with proton energy from 95.5 mb, 15.0 mb and 5.8 mb at 120 MeV to 62.0 mb, 3.1 mb and 1.5 mb at 670 MeV, respectively. The dependence of the ratio σ p, 2n/ σ p, n upon incident proton energy and mass number of the target nucleus is discussed.
