Abstract

AbstractUranium tetraacetate is always the end product when uranium tetrachloride is treated with excess of tertiary butyl acetate, even in cold. However, when uranium tetrachloride is made to react with other esters, the replacement of chloride groups by acetate groups was found to be in the order normal < secondary < tertiary, resulting in the formation of acetate derivatives.
