Abstract

1. The ratios of the effective rate constants of the reactions of chain termination by titanium tetrachloride and the monomer, titanium tetrachloride and diethyl aluminum chloride in the polymerization of ethylene on the system TiCl4-AlEt2Cl were calculated. 2. At sufficiently high monomer pressures (1 atm and higher) and the catalyst concentrations usually used in the polymerization of ethylene, the rate of chain termination by the monomer is considerably higher than that of termination of TiCl4 and AlEt2Cl.
