Abstract

The heteroleptic compound Cp*ZnC6F5 (1) reacts with carbenes to give Cp*ZnC6F5(L) (L = ItBu, 2; IDipp, 3; IMes, 4), in which the presence of the carbene ligand induces slippage of the C5Me5 ligands. The species 1 and 2 react with CO2 to give the hexameric species [(C5Me5CO2)ZnC6F5]6 (5) and the monomeric (C5Me5CO2)ZnC6F5(ItBu) (6), respectively.
