Abstract
1. Bis(triethylgermyl)cadmium reacts with bromobenzene only under the influence of ultraviolet light, with the formation of triethylbromogermane, triethylphenylgermane, diphenylcadmium and cadmium bromide. 2. The reaction of bis(triethylgermyl)cadium with CCl4 yields triethylchlorogermane, CdCl2 and bis(triethylgermyl)dichloromethane. 3. Bis(triethylgermyl)cadmium and bis (triethylgermyl)mercury react with Li or Na in tetrahydrofuran with the formation of the triethylgermyl derivative of lithium or sodium.
