Abstract
Reaction of Cp 2 Zr(CH 3 ) 2 with 1 and 2 equiv of fluorocarbon acids such as H 2 C(SO 2 CF 3 ) 2 yields Cp 2 Zr(CH 3 )[HC(SO 2 CF 3 ) 2 ] and Cp 2 Zr[HC(SO 2 CF 3 ) 2 ] 2 , respectively. The structure of the latter compound demonstrates two HC(SO 2 CF 3 ) 2 ligands. One is bidentate and the other one monodentate, both being bonded to Zr through the sulfone oxygen atoms. The two types of ligands interconvert rapidly on the NMR time scale. 91 Zr chemical shifts are reported
