Abstract
Reactions of (CH 3) 3SnCH 2I with the sodium salts NaMo(CO) 3C 5H 5, NaFe(CO) 2C 5H 5, NaMn(CO) 5, and NaCo(CO) 4 in tetrahydrofuran did not give the corresponding (CH 3) 3SnCH 2M(CO) x (C 5H 5) y derivatives but instead rfesulted in cleavage of a carbontin bond to give the corresponding trimethyltin derivatives (CH 3) 3SnM(CO) x (C 5H 5) y (M = Mo, x = 3, y = 1; M = Fe, x = 2, y = 1; M = Mn, x = 5, y = 0; M = Co, x = 4, y = 0) and methyl derivatives CH 3M(CO) x (C 5H 5) y (M = Mo, x = 3, y = 1; M = Fe, x = 2, y = 1; M = Mn, x = 5, y = 0).
