Abstract

The dependence of the discharge current of a helium-neon laser on the output power is investigated for various numbers of oscillating quantum transitions. The effect of the intensity of electron excitation and of the presence of oscillation at the 3s2-3p4 transitions on the nature of the change in the contribution to neon ionization is established. It is suggested that the reaction of the discharge current to a change in the laser optical radiation be used as the feedback circuit in the laser servostabilization system.
