Abstract
The methylation of steroido[16α,17α-d]-4′H-1′,2'-oxazoles with methyl fluosulfonate leads to N-methyl-3′-hydroxysteroido[16α,17α-d]tetrahydro-1′,2′-oxazoles, which when treated with POC13 are converted to steroidal 16-(2′-glyoxyl)→17-lactones.
