Abstract

AbstractWith a chemical method the rate constants of the uncatalyzed and catalyzed reactions of 2,4‐tolylene diisocyanate (TDI) with poly(ethylene maleate), poly(ethylene adipate), poly(ethylene glycol), poly(oxypropylene glycol), and butandiol‐1,3 in the molten state were determined. The calculations were based on the differential‐integral method following the scheme of consequent‐parallel reactions. As a catalyst was used tri(tributyltin)isocyanate. An isokinetic dependence of the reactions of TDI with the studied macrodiols was found. The influence of temperature, changes of the initial concentrations of the reagents and of the catalyst on the rate of the polyaddition reaction of TDI with the macrodiols is discussed. A comparison of the results of the kinetic studies on the reaction of TDI with macrodiols in molten state and analogous reactions in solutions is carried out.
