Abstract

Veterans and first-generation college students are two types of nontraditional students that academic librarians should consider as underserved populations. Understanding the needs and issues of students in these populations can lead to strategies that can increase information literacy and retention rates. The following articles contain studies and outreach efforts that can benefit students in these nontraditional roles.
