Abstract

A non-Cu metal based catalyst for the deep electroreduction of CO2 to hydrocarbons is reported by Pei-Qin Liao and co-workers in their Communication (e202301767). For the first time, a Sn-based catalyst for the electrochemical CO2 reduction reaction (eCO2RR) to produce hydrocarbons was developed. This Sn-based MOF shows an unexpected performance for eCO2RR to produce CH4, whereas formate or CO are usually common products for traditional Sn-based catalysts.
