Abstract

Reinforced concrete decks of Trestle type wharf are confronted and soaked by waves surfing impaction. Chloride ion in seawater can easily intrude into decks, resulted in rebar corrosion, concrete covers spolled, rebar exposuredly broken, and finally harm the port facility seriously. Cathodic protection technique is acknowledged as the best effective method to prevent the reinforced concrete from corrosion deterioration under marine environment. Recently, several public transportation facilities are applied Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) at near seashore concrete structures. Nevertheless, there are few cases using ICCP at port facilities. Therefore, in the paper, two-selected small deck areas at Kaoshuing and Su-Ao port were under experimented and evaluated.
