Abstract

The article examines the process of development of physical culture and sports in the USSR in the post war years on the example of the Khabarovsk Territory. It was found that, despite the difficult socio-economic situation of the post-war period (lack of high-calorie nutrition, underdevelopment of sports infrastructure, lack of coaching staff and sports equipments), physical culture and sports work was carried out among all groups of the population of the region, including rural residents. In conclusion, it was concluded that although there were some shortcomings in the work of the Khabarovsk Regional Sports Committee, in general it coped with the tasks of developing physical education and sports.
