Abstract
The evolution of digital support for scientific research and the educational process at the St. Petersburg Mining University from the 1960s to the present is examined. Based on the analysis of scientific literature and documents stored in the archives of the Mining University, the features of providing computer equipment, as well as managing the computer center were considered in a historical retrospective.
