Abstract

Glioblastoma Multiforme is the most truculent brain tumor. Current treatment modalities involve chemotherapy, surgery, and radiotherapy. Most GBM patients show chemoresistance over time, and there are not many immunotherapy options available. In cancers, abnormal expression of miRNAs has been associated with tumor initiation, progression, metastasis, and resistance to therapies. Some of the dysregulated miRNAs in cancers can promote tumor growth or act as tumor suppressors. Delivery of miRNA-mimics and anti-sense miRNAs into tumors can directly change the expression of miRNA targets and improve the outcome of GBM therapy.
