Abstract
AbstractNb base alloys with high Zr and C contents possess high strengths at up to 1400°C, but their low-temperature ductilities are unacceptably low due to nearly continuous rough eutectic carbide net along grain boundaries. The net has been broken by rapid solidification (RS). The structure and microhardness of these alloys after RS as well as after consequent compacting and/or annealing have been studied.
