Abstract
The tensile strength of 6N01 Al alloy friction stir welded joints is obviously improved in a short time by combining electropulsing and artificial aging treatment, which is attributed to the transformation of precipitates from rod-like β' to needle-like β''. Benefiting from the athermal effect of electropulsing, rapid solid solution of β' is achieved in 3 s below 110°C.
