Abstract

Aims: Adrenal vein sampling (AVS) is a radiological procedure essential for determining surgical curability of primary aldosteronism (Conn's syndrome). AVS is technically demanding with a high failure rate. Intra-procedural cortisol measurement improves the success rate of AVS but routine or modified cortisol immunoassays are time-consuming, expensive and therefore impracticable.
