Abstract

Abstract A rapid, simplified method is described for analysis for total mercury in urine and plasma. A sulfuric acid—potassium permanganate digestion of small sample volumes efficiently prepares them for measurement of both organic and inorganic mercury, which can be done at the rate of about 100 samples per hour.
