Abstract
The degradation of the environment is a rapid increase due to the application of petroleum based products. The synthetic lubricants are used for reducing the friction between the parts during their contact. But its application is harmful to the environment. To provide a substitute, non-edible oils are one of the better sources. In this study, Raphnus raphanistrum was introduced as a bio based lubricant and positive results were obtained. The friction and wear pof the parts gets reduced during its application at all the conditions applied. Also, wear scar diameter gets reduced during its usage.
