Abstract

The stochastic finite element equations for random temperature are derived from using first-order perturbation technique taking into account the random thermal properties of material and boundary conditions. Then, the random temperature fields of an embankment in a cold region are investigated by the methods. The results will improve our understanding of random temperature field of embankment in cold regions taking into account random boundary conditions. The formalism presented may be directly employed for other problems.
