Abstract

Abstract A description is provided for Ramularia pakistanica . Information is included on the disease caused by the organism, its transmission, geographical distribution, and hosts. HOST: Polygonum dentatus . DISEASE: Leaf spot of P. dentatus , lesion characteristics variable from indistinct, watery brown-grey to buff with purple border, size varies from 1-9 mm (usually 5 mm) wide. Some leaves have no visible lesions but sporulation occurs on both sides to give a frosted appearance. GEOGRAPHICAL DISTRIBUTION: Asia : India, Pakistan. TRANSMISSION: Not known, probably wind dispersal by air-borne spores.
