Abstract

The photodamage of dl-α-phosphatidylcholine, dipalmotoyl (DPPC) liposomes sensitized by hypocrellin B (HB) at various concentrations has been investigated by Raman spectroscopy. It is found that after treatment with HB and light, the space structure of DPPC liposomes obviously changes. The trans conformation decreases and the gauche conformation increases. Moreover, the order parameters for the longitudinal interaction in chains and for the lateral interaction between chains decrease. In addition, it seems that the C—N group of phosphatidylcholine of DPPC is the possible binding site to HB.
