Abstract

ABSTRACT This meta-analytic study investigates the key factors influencing the funder’s intention on the crowdfunding platforms. Our meta-analysis has developed a conceptual framework with five platform features and four funder characteristics with four Hofstede cultural moderators influencing the funding intention. This article analyzed the data from 50 articles (51 studies) representing the sample size of around 19,700 projects. Our results highlight the significance of all nine hypothesized relationships, with eight positive and one negative. The moderator results indicate that all four cultural dimensions moderate majority of the relationships. Finally, implications for future research and practice, limitations, and recommendations have been discussed.
