After earth summits, in 2009 United Nations Climate Change Conference, there is no dough that world is going to face the water scarcity problem. There is a proverb that man leans from history. This paper accesses a few dominating archaeological residential structures in arid and semi-arid western part of India with special emphasised on the rainwater harvesting processes. The basic method is imperial that is based on observation. The ground reality checking of historical facts helped to form primary database. The way of interpretation is analytical and as well as historical (descriptive) too.
