Abstract

The results of the Royal College of Radiologists (RCR) re-audit of waiting times published in this issue of Clinical Oncology will undoubtedly cause disappointment to everyone involved in the delivery of radiotherapy in the UK, but perhaps particularly to that part of HM Government that is responsible for funding it. However, these results are not surprising to those of us in the front line. They confirm what we already thought: that despite the significant investment in radiotherapy since the publication of the National Cancer Plan, there has been no discernable impact on the time patients wait to start treatment.
