Abstract
Materials: 1) Screening and early detection especially as it pertains to the incidence, Issues to be presented include: etiology, epidemiology and natural history; 2) How PSA has impacted on the diagnosis and monitoring of patients following treatmens 3) Innovations in surgical technique have reduced the morbidity of surgery as innovations in pathologic evaluation have added questions to the efficacy; 4) The role and limitations of 3-D conformal irradiation; 5) The significance and management of positive post-radiation biopsies; 6) The management of locally advanced prostate cancer will be discussed and the risk benefit ratio of dose escalation, neoadjuvant hormonal therapy, high LET radiation, hyperthermia and interstitial radiation will be presented.
