Radiology in Neuro-Ophthalmology.

Abstract

The value of this excellent book derives from the extensive clinical experience of the author whose neuroradiology service has benefitted from a close working relationship between the Institutes of Ophthalmology and Neurology in Milan. The book serves to review the neuroradiologic examination of patients with neuro-ophthalmologic problems. The chapters on the paranasal sinuses and the nasopharynx are particularly well done. The descriptions of special radiologic examinations of the orbit, including orbitography, venography, angiography and laminography, present information that is widely scattered in the literature. The usefulness of these methods in analyzing intra-orbital disease is effectively demonstrated by the author with high quality reproduction of wellcropped radiographs. In emphasizing modern radiographic techniques, however, the author ignores the continuing usefulness of stereography in the analysis of orbital disease.
