Abstract
Objectives: The ablation of Premature Ventricular Complexes (PVCs) is still in controversy. We investigated the efficiency and the safety of Radiofrequency (RF) ablation for PVCs in patients (pts) without structural heart disease. Methods: 174 pts without structural heart disease have frequent symptomatic PVCs that are drug resistant who underwent RF ablation in Vietnam National Heart Institute from 5/2007 to 5/2010. We had a full assess with Holter mornitor after 3 months of ablation procedure. Results: 174 pts (56 Male/118 Female) were performed RF ablation with 156 pts (89.9%) of an ectopic focus, 17 pts (9.9%) of 2 ectopic focuses and 1 patient (1.2%) of 3 ectopic focuses and 155 pts (89.0%) of the ectopic focus from right ventricular, 21 pts (11.0%) of the ectopic focus from left ventricular and 141 pts (81.0%) of the ectopic focus from RVOT. Successful rate of ablation is 88.5%, in which 23.3% have recurrent PVCs after 3 months in Holter mornitor. We met an patient with pericardial effusion who were done pericardiocentesis and an patients with the third-degree AV block and no mortality. Conclusions: Our investigator suggests that RF ablation for PVCs is efficiency and safety.
