Abstract

The Radioecological Analysis Support System (RECASS), a computer system designed for radiation monitoring and decision-making support in a nuclear emergency is being developed. The primary purposes of RECASS are to integrate data on existing characteristics of the environment, and data on air, soil, water, and biota contamination with numerical models that stimulate radionuclide behaviour in all environmental media, and to display radiation dose patterns by means of geographic information systems.
