Abstract
The radical cross-coupling reaction is important in recent chemistry. In the September issue of Chem Catalysis , Guan, Xiong, Zhang, and co-workers reported regio- and enantioselective synthesis of α-chiral tertiary-alkylamines through Cu(I)-catalyzed radical cross-coupling. Density functional theory (DFT) computations predicted this reaction and elucidated mechanistic details. Tetrahydrofuran (THF) solvent plays crucial roles in increasing regioselectivity and yield.
