Abstract

In this work, we applied the polarization currents method to describe the Cherenkov radiation spectral lines measured using a thin quartz radiator with frequency dispersion. We also considered the real characteristics of the used electron beam to reproduce experimental results. The procedure is based on numerical calculations in C++, while for comparing purposes, we also used the data previously simulated with the Geant4 toolkit. From such a comparison, we conclude that the developed method better agrees with the experimental data. Besides that, as Cherenkov interference effects play an essential role in thin radiators, we use our method to predict the monochromaticity of Cherenkov spectral lines for both thinner and thicker radiators compared to the experimental one.
