Abstract

By means of the delayed coincidence method the radiative lifetimes of five levels belonging to the 2p 4( 3P) 3p configuration of Ne II have been determined. The results are compared with our calculations assuming LS coupling and Coulomb approximation and with experimental and theoretical values obtained by means of other methods. Our experimental results are: 4 P 0 3 2 (.1 ± 1.0) ns ; 4 P o 5 2 (9.0 ± 0.8) ns ; 2 P 0 1 2 (5.6 ± 0.6) ns ; and 2 D 0 3 2 (7.3 ± 0.8) ns .
